The New Mayor Promises a 'Fresh Chapter' for New York City in Maiden Address
During an first day in office, Zohran Mamdani committed to “transform” the metropolis, promising “a different age” and an audacious beginning to his tenure.
A Groundbreaking Mayor
The new democratic socialist, who was a relatively obscure state assemblyman, has become the city's first Muslim mayor. He also made history by being the inaugural to be take the oath of office using the Qur'an.

Mamdani now begins one of the most challenging jobs in American politics, with a agenda including:
